
KNYSNA INITIATIVE FOR LEARNING AND TEACHING (KILT)
Recognising the need for improved access to quality education in South Africa, Steinhoff wished to contribute to the advancement of learning and teaching in under-resourced schools. Steinhoff partnered with KILT in April 2017 to provide support to certain under-resourced and non-fee-paying schools in the Knysna municipal area by way of sponsorship in the form of providing funding for specific needs that include:
KILT has become a mainstay of support to the 17 government schools, the teachers and the 12 000 learners in greater Knysna. In order to measure their performance to their funding partners, KILT uses six key performance indicators to monitor and evaluate its ongoing projects:
